ABOUT ME
My specialties are in though not limited to Logo Design, Printed Deliverables, Illustration, Motion, Web Design, and Photography.
At the age of 20 months, I was diagnosed with Autism, a developmental disorder that can hinder the ability to have social interactions and learn at the same rate as others, and as a result may not have as promising life opportunities as others. Throughout my early childhood, while I was strong in math, I had trouble consistently with reading and writing, and my vocabulary was not as fluent as it could have been. In addition to that, I learned at a much slower pace than was expected.
I did not understand until the age of 9 how different I was from my peers, and how it could affect my life in the long run. Throughout my adolescence, I had doubts that I would be able to make many life accomplishments if any at all. It was not until much later that I found myself defying all initial odds, and surprising everyone of my abilities.
I went to a typical public high school, and during that time I developed a healthy friend circle, had intelligent social interactions with others, and made a transition from remedial classes
to typical level classes, but that is just the beginning. I also managed to obtain a driver's license, get accepted into a state college, hold a part time job during college, and successfully graduate with a Bachelor's degree. While I was studying at my university, I improved on my writing and public speaking skills, and my previous weaknesses became strengths.
Graphic Design was a slow and gradual passion of mine. I originally went to school with the intention of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, and learn to become a professional coder. I quickly realized, however, that coding was not for me, and needed to find another career path that interested me. Thinking back to my childhood, illustration and color were elements that I loved, and I was always making beautiful and creative works of art. Later on came the realization that there was a market for the creative arts, and I decided to learn about digital and corporate creativity. Throughout my time studying at UMass Lowell, I learned about Visual
Design, Website Design, Photography, Illustration, and countless other areas of fine arts. For my Senior Capstone, I made a proposal for a company that targeted to hire young adults on the Autism Spectrum that were interested in marketing or design related careers, and wanted to relate it to my background completely. The name of that project was Autism Unity Marketing & Design. That is a project still being worked on to this day, and is something that I intend to launch as a business startup within the next ten to twenty years.
My goal is to not only become a successful designer, but also to emerge as a fantastic role model for others with Autism or any neurological disorder, and show that anyone can accomplish their dreams regardless of how different they are. Living with Autism has made me realize how unique I am, and how I could take advantage of my differences to stand out. Apart from marketing and graphic design, I would like to share my life story with others and become a  motivational speaker. Young adults and adolescents at a potential handicap should be encouraged to not let that handicap define who they are, and that they can instead use it to create great success over their lives as long as they put their mind to it and never give up.
